Oltem works with several indigenous artisans from the Risalrada and Antioquia region of Colombia. Most of them are women head of households that already run their own jewelry businesses within Colombia.  

In order to ensure ethical practices with the artisans Oltem has an agreement in place to compensate them fairly. All jewelry pieces are designed by founder Tatiana Toro and handmade in Colombia by the artisans and their team.  

All jewelry pieces reflect traditional weaving practices and patterns, as well as the fauna and flora of the country. The necklaces called “Okamas” are the most significant to the culture and to this jewelry business. 

Tatiana's role as the owner of Oltem LLC is to be the lead jewelry designer, brand director, website designer, sales analyst, marketing strategist and project management amongst others.
