The conch shell, also known as Shankha is a symbol for creation, purity and beauty.
Shankha Bath House was a concept project for one my design courses during University at the Art Institute of New York City.
The program requirements for this project consisted of designing a Bath House with 3 major pools: cold, hot and a plunge pool - as well as a sun room, lockers / bathrooms and a reception area. A very important requirement was that each pool needed 3 exits and 3 entrances, women's and men's lockers rooms should have a dedicated entrance and a dedicated exit, and we could only design 3/4 of the building space for this bath house.
The Shankha Bath House is a luxurious, serene and multi-faceted space, an ambiance to unwind and experience the body- mind connection with water and sun. This space was designed to generate a cult-like audience, where clients enter in distress and leave in peace.
